Samsung announced that it entered into a partnership with Decentraland to build its flagship store in Decentraland. This is Samsung’s first virtual store. It’s not as bad as you might think. Samsung is not only planting trees, they’re growing an entire forest! That’s right, Samsung is teaming up with Decentraland to create an entire “cryptoforest” on Decentraland, and they’ve even hired Jay Shin, who was previously the CEO of Key3 (an incubator for blockchain and cryptocurrency projects) to help make this vision a reality. The Samsung 837X store will offer a unique digital adventure through the “Connectivity Theater” and the “Sustainability Forest,” where fans will be able to complete quests to win 837X NFT
Samsung’s VP of marketing and communications Michelle Crossan-Matos said:
“At Samsung 837X, we’re excited to tell our connectivity, sustainability, and customization stories in a novel way, in a one-of-a-kind space. The Metaverse empowers us to transcend physical and spatial limits to create unique virtual experiences that could not happen otherwise. Innovation is in our DNA, and we can’t wait for you all to experience this burgeoning virtual world.”
Decentraland is a new type of virtual reality (VR) world that is powered by the Ethereum blockchain. It offers users complete ownership of the land and in-game currency they use. With complete ownership comes transparency. This means users can see exactly where their money goes when they use the land or purchase virtual items.
Decentraland current price is $3.270 with a marketcap of $4,355,635,545.00. Its price is 5.08% up in last 24 hours.
